HBA Intern selected to attend 2018 NAHB Residential Construction Symposium
We are excited to announce that our intern, Megan Fitzpatrick, has been selected to attend the 2018 NAHB Residential Construction Symposium in Washington D.C. from June 17th through the 23rd.
Megan has recently joined the HBA Denver team this past March as an intern to Senior Vice President , Chérie Talbert. She is a sophomore at the University of Denver, majoring in Real Estate and the Built Environment with a concentration in Property Development. Megan is an honors student, and also works as a Teaching Assistant for Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in the Daniels College of Business.
The NAHB Residential Construction Symposium is a one week program “designed to give students exposure to the important aspects of the residential construction industry,” with educational sessions that “address legal, regulatory, and management issues related to workplace safety and health, land development, building codes, housing finance, liability and insurance, quality control, green building, and environmental protection.”
In addition, students will be visiting the Home Innovation Research Lab in Maryland to learn more about building codes, product testing, construction techniques, and green building. Students will also meet with a team of builders and developers from the Washington area to discuss business operations, management practices, land development, and regulatory compliance.
For more information about this program, please see the NAHB website here:
Congratulations Megan!
