Permitting Committee: Can your company benefit from having a representative attend?
The HBA of Metro Denver Permitting Committee (PC) works toward the goal of building relationships with local municipalities to encourage timely and efficient permit submittals and turnaround times. The Permitting Committee is comprised of Permit Managers and Coordinators who meet monthly in a roundtable forum for networking and best practices discussions.
Members of the Committee act as peer support, guiding one another through the sometimes cumbersome maze of permit submittal and approval. In the short time since the inception of the Committee the group has worked collectively to improve systems, to offer advice and provide proven strategies to navigate the full cycle of permitting within the 8 counties served by the HBA of Metro Denver.
Permitting Committee Co-Chair Kara Degeneres of William Lyon Homes shares, “The Permitting Committee shares their experiences in homebuilding amongst a professional group. We not only bring our successes to the table, but we also share our challenges and work with advocates amongst various groups to make building in the Denver Metro Area a more successful and efficient process.”
Currently the Permitting Committee is in the process of collecting data regarding permit approval times. This information will be available to Committee members as well as the Advocacy and Government Affairs teams.
The Permitting Committee meets the second Thursday of each month from 9:30 – 11:00 in the HBA Board Room. All those responsible for permitting are invited to attend.
