2023 Membership Survey Results (At a Glance) Thank you to everyone who took part in completing our Membership Survey! HBA of Metro Denver conducted a membership survey in May and June and received responses from 116 members, including 45 Builder/Developer members and 71 Associates.

Colorado is facing an ongoing housing shortage. Several factors attribute to this issue but a notable one, according to the Denver Metro Association of Realtors, is that approximately 82% of current homeowners with a mortgage have an interest rate below 5% and roughly 62% of those with mortgages have an interest rate below 4%. Due to this, the supply of existing homes coming on the market is expected to continue to be depressed for the foreseeable future. Therefore, many homebuyers are looking to build a new home but face the daunting task of securing separate loans for construction and permanent financing. Westerra’s “One-Time Close Construction-to-Permanent Loan” provides a hassle-free solution to this situation by streamlining loans for new home construction or renovation projects. During the construction period, which typically lasts between 12 to 18 months, the loan operates on an interest-only structure. This allows homeowners to save money by only paying interest on the amount used during construction. After completion, the loan smoothly converts to permanent financing (subject to Westerra's underwriting requirements).
