Rod Mickelberry to Retire from Cardel Homes After 30+ Years, Sara Dieringer Appointed Senior VP
NOVEMBER 19, 2021 – Denver, CO –
Following an exemplary 30-year career with Cardel Homes, Rod Mickelberry, Regional President, Colorado, has announced his retirement effective December 31, 2021. Ryan Ockey, CEO of the Cardel Group of Companies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sara Dieringer as Senior Vice President of the Colorado Home Division upon Mickelberry’s retirement.
Mickelberry joined Cardel Homes in the Alberta office in 1991, filling various positions from laborer to Regional President. He is the only Cardel employee who has worked in three of Cardel’s four divisions. After seven years in Alberta, Mickelberry transferred to Tampa, Florida, to help start Cardel’s first U.S. division. In 2006, he took an assignment to Denver to share his expertise establishing the Colorado division. He has held the role of Regional President in both Florida and Colorado, acquiring land parcels ranging from 24 to over 700 units and building single and multifamily developments, several being prestigious, award-winning communities.
Having already hiked 10 of Colorado’s famous 14,000' peaks and traveled to six continents, Mickelberry is looking forward to the opportunity to spend more time exploring with his wife when his retirement begins.
“Cardel really is an amazing, unique company and a great place to work. My 30 years have passed quickly, and with the new crop of young executives being promoted in Colorado, Cardel’s future will be bright for the next 30 years!” said Mickelberry.
One of these bright executives is Dieringer, a skilled veteran in the homebuilding industry, bringing over 20 years of experience to her position. She will manage all the employees in the Colorado home division and oversee daily operations.
“I’m very excited about the opportunity to run Cardel’s Colorado homebuilding division. Rod has built a solid foundation, and I’ve been lucky enough to train directly under him for the past three years as the VP of Operations. My goal for this division is to grow to more than 200 well-built homes per year in communities where people want to live. Cardel has a great culture with many seasoned members on the team, and I’m looking forward to leading such a great group of dedicated employees,” said Dieringer.
